The 600-member unit of the U.S. Army is currently stationed in Iraq. The battalion, based in Fort Hood, was adopted by the City of Georgetown, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and Georgetown ISD, as well as and local businesses and churches as part of the Adopt-a-Unit program.
