There is only one Shumard oak (Quercus shumardi) on the library property. It is on the west end of the building, outside the performance area of the children's room. Shumard oaks are one of the most colorful trees in central Texas in the fall. The former library has beautiful Shumards surrounding it. The leaves are a classic "oak" shape.
